"Our slim, attractive new can is the perfect complement to today's most stylish looks, and we're excited to throw its coming-out party during the biggest celebration of innovative design in the world," Jill Beraud, Chief Marketing Officer at PepsiCo, said in the statement.
The premiere of the "Skinny Can" comes amidst the ongoing controversy that the fashion industry overemphasizes waif-like body types. Fashion weeks hosted in Milan and Madrid banned "size-zero" models from appearing on the runways amid fears the ultra-thin models promoted eating disorders among young girls.
