Are you ready for a three month portfolio challenge?
It really doesn’t matter!
The three month portfolio challenge will start in two weeks on July 1st 2008 and will end on September 30th 2008.
What do you need in order to participate?
The only requirement you need to fulfill is that you have to be a member of EntreCard in order to participate. The sign-up is free and the benefits are really worth it.
What is the challenge?
Every Tuesday you will get a choice of three companies and the option to either go long or short. The companies will be picked randomly.
You will decide if you will go long or short and which company or companies you want to trade. For the sake of fairness the closing price on Tuesday will be used.
The biggest percentage gainer after September 30th will win the portfolio challenge. Each participant will receive 50 EC’s to start with and there will be opportunities to earn additional EC’s during each week.
Here is a little real-life component:
Each share that you want to trade will cost you 5 EC’s.
Why?
Well, nothing is for free in real life and if you want to life in the illusionary mutual fund world you should not participate.
How does the challenge work?
Sign-up with EntreCard and send a message stating that you want to participate and than in order to get the 50 EC’s sign-up with the E-Mail Feed which will also ensure that you receive the different opportunities to boost your credits as well as the three companies to chose from each Tuesday.
Write a post about this competition and earn an additional 200 EC’s.
After you sign-up for the E-Mail Feed leave a comment on this post along with the e-mail you used to sign-up with and you are good to go (should you decide to write a post about this competition leave a link to the post as well).
Each Tuesday you will get a choice of three different randomly picked companies and you will decide if you want to go long or short and which company you would like to trade.
Here is an example:
You want to go long 5 shares on Company A, short 10 shares on Company B and nothing on Company C.
Your total shares you want to trade equal 15 which will cost you 75 EC’s.
Send a PM through EntreCard, tell us what you want to do and your account will be updated (we will keep track of all trades; if you don’t sent the EC’s your account will not be updated) and nobody will know what you decided to do and won’t be able to take advantage of your portfolio management skills.
Each week we will give an update of the top three performers.
At the end of the portfolio challenge the participant who managed the biggest percentage gain will win and the rest will get what a mutual fund will give you…absolutely nothing!

Well, the second place did not win and the third place will not even be remembered…the rest are even worse than that.

This is real business! I would be joining if I still have free time like at the moment. Great stuff. Full of freebies and prizes. I love this game. will make me practice bargaining power, etc.
